Learn how to connect LearnForge to Claude and get the most out of your AI tutor.
What is LearnForge
LearnForge is a spaced repetition platform that connects to Claude as a connector (Model Context Protocol). Every time you review a concept, the AI rephrases the question — so you prove real understanding, not pattern recognition.
- Tracks your understanding across six cognitive levels (Bloom's Taxonomy) — from basic recall to critical thinking
- Schedules reviews with a science-backed algorithm that adapts to how you study
- Creates interactive flashcards with formulas, diagrams, and quizzes through conversation
Connect to Claude
You need a LearnForge account (free, no credit card required) and a Claude account (any plan — the free tier includes 1 connector).
- Open claude.ai and go to Settings > Connectors
- Scroll down and click Add custom connector
- Enter the server URL:
https://learnforge.eu/mcp
- Click Add to confirm
- You will be redirected to sign in with your LearnForge credentials
- In a conversation, click the + button, select Connectors, and toggle LearnForge on
Authentication uses OAuth 2.0 — no API key needed. Works on any Claude plan, including the free tier.
Study with AI
Try saying:
Quiz meQuiz me on BiologyLet's learnClaude starts by showing your study summary — how many cards are due, your new card count, and your Bloom level distribution. Then you pick a topic and study mode.
Chat Mode (default)
You type free-form answers in your own words. This is the deepest form of learning — correct answers earn longer review intervals.
MCQ Mode
Multiple choice questions for faster sessions. Great for quick reviews, but intervals are shorter since recognition is easier than recall.
Claude asks questions one by one, adapted to your current Bloom level. After each answer you get immediate feedback — what was right, what's missing, and a hint for next time. At the end, you see a session summary with your accuracy and any Bloom level changes.
Create Cards with AI
Try saying:
Create a card about photosynthesisMake a flashcard for the Krebs cycleClaude generates a visual flashcard with a clean question on the front and an interactive explanation on the back — including accordion sections, KaTeX formulas, and SVG diagrams where appropriate.
You always see a rendered preview first. Nothing is saved until you explicitly confirm. You can request changes ("make it simpler", "add a diagram", "change the question") as many times as you like before approving.
Manage Cards
Try saying:
Edit my photosynthesis cardDelete the card about mitosisShow me my study forecastBeyond creating cards, you can ask Claude to edit, delete, or review your existing cards and study schedule:
- Edit cards — change the question, update the answer, or move a card to a different topic
- Delete cards you no longer need
- View your due forecast — see how many reviews are coming up by day or month
- Upload images and audio to cards for visual learning and diagrams
Manage Topics
Try saying:
Create a topic called Organic ChemistryShow my topicsClaude can organize your learning material into a topic hierarchy. What you can do:
- Create new topics, optionally nested under a parent
- Rename topics and add descriptions
- Build multi-level hierarchies (e.g. Biology > Cell Biology > Mitosis)
- Delete empty topics (cards must be moved or deleted first)
